The Program

Background and Objectives:


The Society and Development Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (PPGSeD) was recommended by CAPES in August 2013 and started to operate in March 2014, with the entry of the first Master's class. The course is offered at the Campo Mourão campus of the State University of Paraná (Unespar), an institution accredited as a University in December 2013. The Stricto Sensu Graduate Program was recognized according to CNE opinion no. 23/2014 of the Higher Education Chamber of the National Education Council, published in the Federal Official Gazette of Edition no. 93, on May 19, 2014, in section 1, page 16.

 

Main goal:


The Interdisciplinary Graduate Program (PPGSeD) of the State University of Paraná aims to promote training aimed at autonomy for research and the production of scientific knowledge about the intra and intersubjective processes of human formation, in its relations with socio-cultural processes, institutions, public policy proposals and the production and occupation of space.

 

Specific objectives:


- Train professors and researchers to work in Higher Education, research institutes and technical-scientific advisory services, promoting the training of human resources at the Postgraduate level in the interdisciplinary area;

- Promote interdisciplinary training to work in the diagnosis and monitoring of public policies aimed at human training, with regard to quality of life, education and development;

- Promote the training of human resources at the Postgraduate level, in order to meet the demands and problems of the Mesoregion Central Western Paraná, marked by educational weaknesses, socioeconomic inequalities and socio-cultural diversity, considering the interfaces with the global context;

- Train professionals to work in non-academic spheres in the region and / or in the country, linked to the government and / or private sectors, contributing to technological and social development.

 

Graduates Profile:


It is expected that the trained professional is able to develop research and produce knowledge about the intra and intersubjective processes of human formation; work in Higher Education, research institutes and technical-scientific advisory services, establishing exchanges and partnerships with other public and private institutions; act in Basic Education, as a teacher or professional who contributes to reflection and intervention, addressing issues inherent to this level of education; understand the historical and cultural constitution of subjects and spaces in the Mesoregion, in a systemic approach, as well as the influence of such aspects on human formation; contribute to the diagnosis, elaboration and monitoring of public policies aimed at overcoming socioeconomic inequalities, taking into account the cultural differences of individuals, groups and institutions; propose and monitor management projects aimed at socioeconomic development at different levels of activity.

The trained professional must be able to understand human formation in its relations with: (a) the socio-cultural processes that constitute the subjects' relations with the institutional spheres, as well as the forms of sociability and the constitution of identities in their multiple dimensions; (b) public policies, educational processes and processes of production and occupation of space. The graduate of PPGSeD will be able to work in Higher Education and research institutions, in the basic school, in public and private management, in Third Sector organizations, among others. In this sense, the course aims to train a professional who - from an interdisciplinary epistemological stance and the construction of new research and intervention methodologies - acts based on a multidimensional understanding of reality, especially with regard to changes, challenges and the new demands related to society and development.
